About The Event

Co-hosted by Philadelphia’s Franklin Biolabs and the Alliance for mRNA Medicines, with participation of Philadelphia’s leading academic medical centers, Building RNA Medicine Excellence is a half-day conference that will take place June 3 in Philadelphia at the Cira Center. This timely event will celebrate the extraordinary contributions of Katalin Karikó and Drew Weissman, who were jointly awarded the 2023 Nobel Prize for their groundbreaking work in mRNA research, as well as the unprecedented achievement of treating Baby KJ Muldoon with a novel mRNA-enabled gene editing therapy designed and coordinated by teams at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and Penn Medicine.

The meeting will convene key stakeholders leading robust scientific innovation programs in RNA therapeutics and building critical infrastructure to discuss what they expect to accomplish in the next 5-10 years. They will focus on coordination and key platform components necessary to enable rapid, widespread systematic design and delivery of RNA-based medicines to patients. Please join us as we define excellence for the fast-paced frontier of RNA therapeutics and build the next generation of transformative genetic medicines.
