Alliance for mRNA Medicines and Society for RNA Therapeutics Join Forces for AMM’s Annual Meeting, ASCENT, in 2026

Partnership brings together the leading industry advocacy organization for mRNA medicines and the leading scientific society for RNA therapeutic development to advance the field jointly at AMM’s flagship annual meeting

Washington, DC, US, June 17, 2026 — The Alliance for mRNA Medicines (AMM) and the Society for RNA Therapeutics (SRT) today announce they will collaborate to present ASCENT 2026, AMM’s annual meeting taking place October 28–30, 2026, in Coronado, California. Through this partnership, AMM and SRT will work together to develop the scientific programming at this year’s ASCENT meeting. This enhanced program will expand opportunities for attending researchers, innovators, and industry leaders across the RNA medicines ecosystem to connect and share advances shaping the future of the field.

“This partnership is a natural fit to enable the entire RNA sector to work together for solutions to the current needs of the industry. AMM represents the industry and academic institutions building mRNA medicines. SRT represents members of the scientific community advancing the underlying science. Providing a venue to bring together and unify both communities at ASCENT 2026 creates something neither organization could offer alone: a meeting where cutting-edge science and commercial translation happen in the same room,” said John P. Cooke, M.D., Ph.D., President, Society for RNA Therapeutics, and Director, Center for RNA Therapeutics, Houston Methodist Research Institute.

As part of the collaboration, AMM and SRT will jointly select the speakers and topics for dedicated scientific sessions focused on ‘translational research in RNA therapeutics’, and ‘innovation in RNA therapeutics and delivery’. The organizations will also launch a new poster session at the meeting, creating a forum for academic researchers and companies to present emerging research, highlight innovative approaches, and engage directly with peers, potential collaborators, investors, and decision-makers advancing mRNA and RNA-based medicines.

This collaboration reflects a shared commitment to advancing high-quality scientific exchange and supporting the continued growth of the RNA therapeutics community,” said Clay Alspach, Executive Director, Alliance for mRNA Medicines. “By combining AMM’s convening power across the mRNA industry with SRT’s RNA research expertise and community, ASCENT 2026 will offer an even stronger platform for showcasing innovation and accelerating progress for patients.”

The call for scientific abstracts is open. Please visit https://mrnamedicines.org/events/2026-annual-meeting/ to learn more and submit your abstract by the August 1, 2026 deadline.

ASCENT

ASCENT 2026 will bring together senior executives, scientific leaders, policymakers, investors, and other top decision-makers to advance pioneering research into RNA therapies for patients. The meeting will feature one-on-one partnering opportunities, dedicated networking, keynotes and fireside chats with industry visionaries, and plenary and panel discussions among biotechnology, pharmaceutical, and academic leaders.

Alliance for mRNA Medicines

The Alliance for mRNA Medicines (AMM) is dedicated to advancing and advocating for an RNA platform approach to medicine, including protein replacements, gene editing and cell engineering strategies, immunotherapies and vaccines to treat cancer, rare disease, autoimmunity and other chronic and infectious illnesses for the benefit of patients, public health, and society.

We advance this mission by shaping policy, accelerating regulatory science, expanding access, and enabling manufacturing — while convening the scientists, innovators, and industry leaders who are turning RNA’s promise into reality. Our goal is simple: ensure that transformative RNA medicines reach every patient who needs them.

Society for RNA Therapeutics

The Society for RNA Therapeutics is a non-profit, professional organization whose mission is to promote research, education, and developments in RNA therapeutics to improve global health. The Society serves as a global network for sharing information on translational research and development of RNA therapeutics; provides public and professional education; develops training guidelines and supports early career and professional development; facilitates public, private, and regulatory partnerships and develops standards for RNA manufacturing; develops guidelines for clinical trials and clinical best practices in RNA therapeutics; and advocates for accessibility to RNA therapeutics in service of global health.
